# microservices.sh > A composable, source-visible, governed backend for AI-built apps on Cloudflare. > Your Agentic CTO: the governed backend your AI build never had — fails closed, code you own. > AI-era founders and agencies use their own AI coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) > to compose verified, Cloudflare-native modules into the app a business actually runs > on — bookings, payments, customers, invoices, admin, audit — and deploy it to their > own Cloudflare. You own the code. ## What it is microservices.sh ships the dangerous 30% of an app — auth, payments, webhooks, audit, multi-tenant isolation — as verified, source-visible Cloudflare-native modules with a typed contract (module.json), pinned versions, tests, and deploy-time checks. An AI agent reads the contract before it composes, so it builds against a specification instead of improvising. The defensible combination is composable + source-visible + governed: no incumbent offers all three. It is NOT a no-code builder, NOT a SaaS-only template, NOT a "Corporate OS," and NOT a Cloudflare wrapper. ## Who it is for - AI/dev agencies and fractional CTOs building repeatable custom client apps (they own the code; ship it white-label on the client's own Cloudflare). - Technical founders and platform engineers using coding agents to build products, internal tools, client portals, and booking/payment apps. Not for: non-technical no-code users, solo/one-person businesses (the governance — RBAC, approvals, audit — needs role separation), or AWS/GCP/Azure-locked teams. ## Modules (21 available today + 1 draft) All available modules are source-visible, contract-checked (`pnpm microservices check`), and version-pinned in microservices.lock.json. API maturity is beta. Detail pages under /modules. Grouped by domain: - Access & identity: auth, gateway, org-team-rbac, identity (passwordless email-code login + sessions), passkey-auth (passkey/WebAuthn registration + authentication ceremonies) - Payments & billing: payment (Stripe intents + signed webhooks), invoice, billing-subscriptions - Customers & scheduling: customer, booking (availability, holds, deposits), calendar-google - Content & intake: forms-intake, file-media (R2 uploads), admin-shell (schema-driven CRUD + RBAC), image-generation - Messaging & delivery: email, notifications-inapp, webhook-delivery - Platform & ops: jobs-workflows (durable jobs, retries, dead-letter), audit-log (append-only), idempotency, ads-manager - Roadmap (draft, not yet available): operator-work Modules coordinate over a published composition contract (@microservices-sh/connection-contract: typed RPC, events, hooks, manifests). Note: research and advisory/decision features are NOT shipped — they are roadmap, not current capability. ## What you can build (outcomes → modules) - Booking app: booking + calendar-google + payment + customer + audit-log - Multi-tenant SaaS: org-team-rbac + auth + gateway (isolation at the permission layer) - Client portal: identity + customer + file-media + invoice + admin-shell - Passwordless auth: identity + auth + org-team-rbac ## How it works 1. `pnpm create microservices-app@latest studio-booking --template booking-sveltekit` 2. Run locally first — no login, no Cloudflare account for the first app. 3. The agent uses the CLI (or MCP/API) to list/inspect/compose modules and add capabilities (`pnpm microservices add payment --plan`). 4. Customize via config and typed hooks; run `pnpm microservices check`; deploy a preview to your own managed Cloudflare. Production promotion requires explicit confirmation. ## Trust and control Source-visible generated code; module versions pinned in microservices.lock.json; typed hooks with required tests; append-only audit events; agent-readable check failures before any deploy; explicit upgrade flow; full repo export — no lock-in, no black box. ## Pricing Flat monthly, no overage billing; usage-metered, not per-seat. Free local generation; Hobby $5/mo; Solo Business $19/mo; Builder $49/mo (recommended — multiple apps, seats, bigger quotas); Agency $149+/mo (client workspaces); Enterprise custom. Full quota matrix at /pricing. ## Key pages - Home: https://microservices.sh - Module catalog: https://microservices.sh/modules - Templates (booking, client-portal, saas-starter, framework starters): https://microservices.sh/templates - Module contract explainer: https://microservices.sh/contracts - Quickstart: https://microservices.sh/quickstart - For agencies: https://microservices.sh/for-agencies - Pricing: https://microservices.sh/pricing - Comparisons: https://microservices.sh/compare - Auth0 alternative: https://microservices.sh/compare/auth0-alternative - Calendly alternative: https://microservices.sh/compare/calendly-alternative - Retool alternative: https://microservices.sh/compare/retool-alternative - Migrate (Supabase, Firebase, Prisma/Postgres, Express, Vercel/Next): https://microservices.sh/migrate - Writing: https://microservices.sh/writing - Where AI-built apps break in production: https://microservices.sh/writing/where-ai-built-apps-break-in-production - White-label SaaS backend (for agencies): https://microservices.sh/writing/white-label-saas-backend - Durable, audited background jobs on Cloudflare: https://microservices.sh/writing/durable-background-jobs-cloudflare - create-microservices-app on npm: https://www.npmjs.com/package/create-microservices-app
